Entity Hospital Acquired Condition Measures

Description

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) adopted eight hospital-acquired condition (HAC) measures for the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting Program (Reporting Program), formerly known as the Reporting Hospital Quality Data for Annual Payment Update (RHQDAPU) program, as part of the 2011 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) Final Rule. The eight measures are a subset of the ten HAC categories for which CMS implemented payment provisions beginning October 1, 2008.
